Accommodation in almost all price ranges can be found within Bangkok. There are several luxury hotels in Bangkok, with swimming pools, mini bars, etc. Luxury hotels in Bangkok are cheaper than you initially think. Broadly speaking, Khao San Road is backpacker city; the riverside by Silom and Thonburi is home to The Oriental and The Peninsula respectively, often ranked among the best in the world; and Sukhumvit Road has hotels (and hostels) for all budgets. Before checking into an unfamiliar place, always ask to see a room first, and test the fan or the air-con if you think you'll need it.

Budget hotels and Mid-range

Sukhumvit Road is one of the longest roads in the world and packed with hotels and hostels for all budgets. In this street you can find rooms with airconditioning from 550 baht up to 5000 baht per night. Hotel Ambassador is very big with 750 rooms and a pool on the roof.

Luxury hotels

Among the luxury hotels in Bangkok are Marriott Resort and Spa, Millennium Hilton, Oriental Bangkok and the Peninsula Bangkok Hotel. The Oriental is ranked highly amongst the finest hotels in the world. Prices are consequently on the steep side; even the cheapest online rates are rarely below $300 a night.
