Airports near Beijing

Beijing Capital International Airport is the main international airport of Beijing. It was opened to public in 1958 and is the now largest and busiest airport in China. It is the main hub for China's national flagship carrier Air China, which flies to around 120 destinations from Beijing. Hainan and China Southern Airlines also use the airport as their regional hub. The Airport consists of three terminal buildings, double control towers and three runways. Airport taxiways reaches 137 and parking stand has increased from 164 to 314. The high standard of services and facilities has attracted 66 airlines to operate here. Currently, the airport has flight connections to some 88 domestic and 69 foreign cities. The Capital Airport has become one of the largest airports in the world.

Airport Facilities

The T3 food-service area is called a 'global kitchen', where 72 stores will provide food ranging from formal dishes to fast food, from Chinese to western, from bakery goods to ice cream. In addition to food and beverage businesses, there will be a 12,600-square-meter domestic retail area, a 10,600-square-meter duty-free-store area and a nearly 7,000-square-meter convenience-service area, which includes banks, business centres, Internet services and more. At 45,200 square meters, the commercial area will be twice the size of Beijing’s Lufthansa Shopping Centres.

Parking Lot

The Parking Lot has a total area of 170,000 m2 with 2 floors above ground and 4 below, equipped with excellent facilities. Voice presentation is provided by the automated card dispatcher at the entrance. 24-hour consulting service is offered at the Parking Lot. Electronic display screen guiding system for parking and 24-hour video recording security system is available at the Parking Lot.

There are four expressways leading to the airport with two of them running directly from northeastern Beijing to the airport and two others connecting with nearby highways. The first expressway was opened in September 1993. The twenty-kilometer long highway runs entirely within the confines of the Beijing municipality starting from Sanyuanqiao at the 3rd Ring Road.

Airport Express train

The Airport Express Line of the Beijing Subway serves the airport from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 and then takes passengers to Dongzhimen via Sanyuanqiao. It carries passengers to the airport in twenty minutes from the city center, covering a distance of 28 kilometers.

Airport Shuttle Bus

Currently, there are nine different shuttle bus routes connecting the airport with various locations in the downtown area of Beijing, such as Xidan, Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station, Nanyuan Airport and others.
